I. Hate. Moths.
Moths moths MOTHS!!
They're everywhere here in Colorado!!
Those pests.
They're like tiny maniac planes that love flying into people's faces.
Annoying.
We are literally guiding them towards the light, trying to take them out of the house into the garage.
We've killed dozens and spared way more than 20 that somehow snuck into our house (I swear we don't have holes on the walls).
How can you get rid of moths without mothballs? (Those things are too smelly.)
I ask myself, "What are moths even for?"
Well, for one, the birds feast on them.... "Ok......... um...."
Yup... that's all I got.
Like any other insect, I want them away from me but then I can't kill them... WHYYYYY.
I cannot wait for "moth season" to be over... One of my kids at work today told me that "moth season" doesn't exist... Well, I'D like to think so. LET ME DREAM!
So who is my friend for the time being?
Oooooh yea.

Wonderful Book
I just finished Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.
Such a beautiful story.
I totally recommend it!
It's a story about redemption, love, sacrifice, forgiveness, and much more.
I usually am not able to finish books because I just get bored and feel like my reading pace deadens. This book is FAT, 464 pages to be exact, not including the author's reason for writing it at the end. But I read even three chapters without stopping with this book! Unbelievable. I even surprised myself.
This is officially my favorite novel.

Mother/Daughter Mac Pics
Ok so I thought I'd publish these... for laughter's sake. This is a probably-never-going-to-happen-again post because I don't like posting not-so-prettyful-pics. It's me & my momma.

Sunny Side Up
Eeeek!
Sick sick sick.
That's how I am right now.
I don't know what I have but I'm shooting' for strep. I think it's strep (better said).
Yesterday I was fine & then this morning my throat is swollen to the point where I can feel my trachea closing up... ok maybe that's a little dramatic but it's something like that.
The little ones have been super sick at work so I guess I had it comin'.
It even hurts to talk (& of course swallow) but I ain't mopin'!
You know when you get sick & you just want to stay in bed (not saying that's bad er anything, because I did get some extra beauty sleep today), & you totally have the chance to pity your state-of-being-sick? Well don't!
Your body might be asking you for rest so get it. But in my personal opinion, when I'm sick & I don't do anything, I get better slower. In my case, since my throat's killin' me, I turn up the music & dance. Gets my spirits up ya know?
So try it out next time. Most of the time, it's up to you to make it better :)
P.S. Don't forget the fluids!

Belt it
I like singing.
One: it's an outpour to the Lord because I'm so thankful for many things.
Two: I usually have music on, wherever I go, so I sing along.
Three: I really like challenging myself (i.e. reaching higher/lower ranges, vocalizing, memorizing lyrics).
One of the places where I sing my heart out is in my car. Can you relate?
I blast the music (usually a little lower to where I can hear an ambulance siren) and sing!
However, there comes a point where you're waiting at a stop light & another car drives up right next to you. Do you minimize your mouth movements & sing under your breath or do you stop singing altogether? Or could you care less and keep on singin'?
Sometimes I do all of those. Ha ha, I get self-concious and think about what the other person might be thinking once they see my mouth moving, "Man, she must be having a terrible day. Pep talk to self. I can relate." "Maybe she's on her way to an interview & she's practicing." "Why do people do that?" Or maybe they're nice and say, "I should sing too!" "She's talking to herself? Yeah that's pretty therapeutic."
Other people might not know why you're "talking to yourself" or singing when you're at a stop light, but what's the big deal?! It's a matter of preference, & sometimes I prefer singing in my car & laughing by myself when I remember something funny... even if other people are watching.

Hidden Funnies
When you really clean a terrible room, much like mine, you find little treasures.
I found a comic strip that I had kept because it made me smile big.
It was printed last Mother's Day.

Bedroom: Before & After
I remodeled my room yesterday!
It was a complete mess.
However the pictures above are the result of already having moved things (my room isn't that jumbled).
I moved the bed, the vanity, took my desk out and created an "office corner," put all my college textbooks in boxes (most of them) and under the bed, put all my boxes & excess mags next to my book shelf, and now I have open space in the center!
So voila! I wish I could do a paint job on it but I won't stay here forever so I'll leave it as is.
I also filed a ton of paperwork laying around the room and created a new 2012 file for each category (i.e. Work, Expenses, Ministry, etc.).
It was a lot of hard work doing this by myself but I love moving things around! Seeing my room way more organized also makes me happier :)

Zee office corner!
Under my bed! The bed risers are very convenient. I have my guitar & extra music goodies in a bag as well as my college textbooks here.
My boxes full of goodies & mags (far left).
Office corner without chair
I want to fill the empty wall space!
As you can notice, the headboard that mom made me a while ago is still in its same spot (I left it there because that wall gets super cold at night so it deflects it).

HSI Flat Iron
I was straightening my hair before going to work and as I was taking each chunk of hair ready to be straightened, I noticed that I had to go over it more than 3 times, then 4, then 5, "Uuuum, c'mon hair I don't have much time left." The kinks weren't going away! Then as I touched the portion of hair that I had used the iron on, it was cold! As in NOT HOT. I cautiously and quickly touched the flat iron (as in like a millisecond... or less) and didn't feel heat. I touched it for a longer time and it wasn't hot. It wasn't even mild!! After unplugging it, turning it on and off, and tapping it hoping it would come back to life (much like people did with TVs in the olden days), I concluded that my flat iron went kaput. (It was a Revlon Ceramic the I owned for maybe 2 years... I think.) "Why now?!" I had to chop chop! Mom let me use a wide flat iron, which was definitely not ceramic, to finish up. "Ah poor hair!"
I started wearing my hair curly (natural) since I didn't want to use any straightening iron. This totally helped my hair relax from all the heat and take its natural form.
Later in the week I went to Wally World and bought a ceramic flat iron for $30. I thought, "What a deal!" And it was pink! It also had a guarantee so I went with it. Once I brought it home, mom was like, "Oh no! I just bought one for you off the internet!"
Long story short, I used the one I had just bought to see if it was worth keeping (def was not worth keeping) and I returned it.
Mom bought a $50 straightening iron! She set it on my bed as a surprise when I got home from work.
It was red and seemed bedazzled!! I was SO excited!
An HSI 1" flatiron, Professional ;)
It looked so legit! I had never heard of it but I Googled it (of course) & heard good things about it. Then... I used it! Dun dun DUN.
Oh, it also came with Argan Oil which I had heard a lot about but never used it (it's from Morocco). SO soothing to my hair [and hands].
Argan Oil+HSI= super silky hair!! Sehr gut. It curls so well too! (I used it to curl my ends.) It even made my hair heavier, compared to when you're using a not-so-good straightener which dries out/fries your hair and makes it a light-poofy.
So I definitely recommend HSI as well as the Argan Oil (it's also used as a skin moisturizer). It's worth it!

Movie Review
Last night I saw one of the worst movies I've ever seen: Message in a Bottle.
It's with Kevin Costner so I assumed it was going to be a good movie, aaand Nicholas Sparks wrote the novel! Sparks wrote one of my favest books: A Walk to Remember!
Uh, NO.
The end of Message in a Bottle was terrible!
For some reason Costner likes to die in the movies he makes (much like The Guardian), which I totally don't like because it's too sad (although, now that I think about it, The Guardian has some good messages still... I need to re-watch that one).
Well, in Message in a Bottle Costner dies too! Ugh, it's so disappointing. AND he dies trying to save a woman drowning in the sea in a storm (again, a correlation with The Guardian). So he dies, the woman he's trying to save dies too. Oh & this all happened when he was on his way to win the heart of the woman he loved. FAIL. He also left his father at home who was waiting for him to return. Cue credits.
Ugh, just terrible! It was an epic fail. But I have good news!!
I re-viewed another movie full of boldness, hope, love, and faith! Ah yes, major contrast & a breath of fresh air. I would highly recommend you watch One Night with The King.
